How to Junk Your Car With No Title in Arizona

Step 3: Special Situations
Owner Affidavit (Form 46-4421):
If your vehicle is 12 years old or older, and does not exceed a value of $1200, it can be junked with the Owner Affidavit (Form 46-4421) instead of a title.
Note: You will also need to provide an odometer disclosure statement. Failure to do so could lead to fines and/or imprisonment.
If the sale value of the vehicle exceeds $1200, you’ll need a title to junk it. Follow the steps below to obtain a new or duplicate title.
Step 4: Apply for a Car Title in Arizona
The below applies to vehicles less than 12 years old, or those over 12 with a sale value exceeding $1200.

Step 1: Check the vehicle’s title status → Arizona Department of Transportation
Step 2:
- If it’s less than 12 years old, you’ll need a new, replacement/duplicate title (Form 96-0236).
- If the vehicle is 12 years old or older and worth $1200 or less, you don’t need a title – just provide an Owner Affidavit.
